Scenario
A Montana ranching family clashes with others who are encroaching on their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is an expert in the rodeo world. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his Montana accent and reverts to his usual Southern California speaking voice. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Summer TV Shows That Aren’t on Your Radar (2018) Yellowstone is a solidly written drama—great characters well-realized—that takes its tone from some modern masterpieces. It has the atmosphere and cinematography of Longmire, the plot and dark perspective of The Sopranos, and the dramatic dynamics of shows like “Dynasty” or any other network drama similar to it. Much respect goes to Costner and Cole Hauser—these guys give it their all. I didn’t expect to be as engaged with this show as I was. It’s well worth it.
